Memorial Day Outfit Prep

Happy Thursday! Today I got my hair colored and went from red back to having my blonde ombre just in time for summer. With Memorial Day being next weekend I am getting all of my outfits ready for the big weekend. There are some essential items that you will need for the holiday weekend whether you are going away or staying in town. Here are some of the things you should make sure you have: a great pair of white jeans, a cold shoulder top with a great strapless bra, a small clutch and a great pair of sandals. If you don’t have any of these items I would go out and get them ASAP! I say this out of love because I know what it feels like not to have these clutch items. I went shopping in a panic out in New York City and yes New York one of the fashion capitals of the world has everything however when it comes to major holidays. You will notice that when summer comes along right before the actual weekend these items like white jeans sell out in mostly every single size. These are staple items that you will not only wear Memorial Day weekend, but all summer long. I know we are all waiting for these huge Memorial Day sale however, a lot of stores do offer pre sale for certain items if you ask. I have personally done this numerous times at Bloomingdales during their Friends & Family if I didn’t need the item right away. If you don’t know where to begin when it comes to shopping for next weekend I suggest you all head on over to Gap, H&M or Forever 21. These are great store options that have so many options right now and at great prices. For all of those in New York City I hope that all of you are safe after todays’ horrible accident in Times Square. Always be aware of your surroundings and make sure to pay attention always. The Quilted Handbag

Happy Thursday! Back in college the one thing that every girl wanted a Chanel quilted bag, but my mom wasn’t going to send me to college with such an expensive bag that I would potentially ruin on a night out. Instead she found something that had the same look, but more than half the cost. This Rebecca Minkoff quilted affair bag is one of my go to bags on days when it is so gross outside especially in New York City now with all of this rain that we have been having. This specific version is no longer sold in stores anymore, however they do have a smaller version on the Bloomingdales website. I have personally worn my bag during some major snow storms and some pretty terrible rain and it has held up through it all. If you are looking for a great going out bag that has the look of a classic Chanel bag Rebecca Minkoff is the place to go. All of their bags are so classic and are amazing quality. I have truly seen a great change in her designs and work in the past 5 years and I am an avid customer. When I couldn’t find this bag back in college my mom was able to find it thanks to Zappos. If you are having trouble finding any bag that seems to be sold out everywhere online check Zappos website. More than likely they have the bag or at least that is what has happened to me in the past. I paired my bag with a simple pair of black jeans and a chambray top with black loafers for an easy casual going out look. The Wristlet Is Back!

Happy Monday! It being the start of the week I wanted to throw it back today to a trend that we all know too well. When I was 13 the purse that everyone in my grade had was a wristlet. It wasn’t too big and it was just big enough that whenever any of my friends and I were going to a party we were able to fit our lip glosses and cellphones inside. Now the wristlet is back in style and a lot of different designers are bringing back this trend, but putting their own spin on it. Now back in the day the wristlets I always saw were just a smaller version of a purse and not really structured or anything of that sort. This Louis Vuitton wristlet is now my go to bag when I am not in the mood to carry a purse on my shoulder. Surprisingly I am able to fit a lot into this bag with it still laying seemingly flat. Inside there is even a divider and slots in the back to put your credit cards in. For me that was a major selling point because it is hard enough to fit all of your must haves into a smaller bag, but when a bag makes it easier for you to carry all the things you want and more that is huge. My suggestion if you are looking for a wristlet is buy one that is neutral in colors. This Louis Vuitton one I can wear with almost everything and if it came in black I would probably buy it as well. Also as i just previously said that the major selling point for this bag for me was the card slots is to make sure that you can fit your 3 major necessities when you go out. Those three things are your cell phone, wallet and your keys. I personally have a Iphone 6s Plus and finding a bag that fits that big phone is hard to find, but this one does it easily. Pant Romper Chambray Style

Happy Monday Everyone! Jumpsuits or rompers whatever you like to call them are something that me, since I’m short don’t always work, but recently I have discovered all kind of pant rompers that have made me look even taller than I am! This amazing chambray romper that I got at Bloomingdale’s this summer has become one of the staple pieces in my closet. I love the color and it works for multiple occasions. I have worn this to fun brunches in the city and even to my best friend’s rehearsal dinner for his wedding. Funnily enough he was also wearing a chambray colored suit so it looked like we were matching on purpose ☺ . I have seen this romper worn on other bloggers and some have even taken the belt off on it all together. Honestly, I thought about doing it myself but it gives such a great shape when it is belted with a bow in the front that I don’t see why you need to remove it, it’s mostly a preference thing. I did have to get it hemmed for my height, but unlike other rompers I got it hemmed for the wedges I am wearing and not for flats. Some pant rompers that I own work with flats because if the bottoms are straight it doesn’t look weird since I am so short, but with a wide leg like this one,flats it just didn’t look right. When getting something hemmed you can show a little bit of your shoe, but when it’s a wide leg pant you want to make sure that when you walk, you aren’t stepping on it. The worst thing that can happen to anyone is tripping over a pant romper because then it can pull down your romper in the wrong places. This is a great piece that I think everyone should add to their closets.
