Happy #TBT! Everyone always says that in fashion its a cycle and that what’s old is new again. This has always been the case especially this past year. We have seen the resurgence of so many trends that I even used to wear when I was younger. Wow that makes me feel old. One of my favorite trends from middle school was the denim jacket. I still remember the first one my Mom purchased me was a dark denim jacket from Hard Tail. I wore it until it was too short on my arms for me to wear. Even though I tried to convince my parents I could wear it as a quarter sleeve jacket, but they didn’t buy it. While in college my Mom once again found me another great find this Ralph Lauren denim jacket. I totally forgot I even had it until I moved to New York City almost 4 years ago. When looking for a denim jacket I suggest looking at your wardrobe in a whole. I prefer my denim jacket plain without any patches or artwork on it. The amount of times I have thrown on my denim jacket right before I walk out the door recently is through the roof. Even when I am simply going out for a walk with my sweet puppy Stella I sometimes throw it on instead of putting on a long sleeve t-shirt. It’s hard when its early in the morning and its too hot for long sleeves but a little nippy for just a tank top. This is a happy medium! I know a lot of people have been wearing them super oversized, but for me I prefer mine more fitted. However, if you want the oversized look make sure the arms aren’t too long that you are rolling up the sleeves to the point that it hurts your wrist. If you want a denim jacket with a little more flare you can always purchase your own patches online and put them on a solid denim jacket yourself. It will be most cost effective especially if you aren’t sure how often you are going to wear it. Sadly my denim jacket is no longer available, but if you search retailers such as Zara, GAP and even H&M you will find great ones that won’t cost you an arm and a leg.
March Madness Gear
Hey guys! Today is the day the day of “The Big Dance” as my dad used to call it. I am talking about March Madness!!! Growing up I played basketball until I was 16 years old and it is my favorite sport to watch. Whether is be college or professional I enjoy watching the game, but being a girl and going to games when I was younger there was always a lack of female gear for sports teams. Thankfully in the past decade designers and teams have realized this as well and have come up with appropriate gear for all genders. I personally don’t wear items that are too girly with all the glitter and bedazzled gems I just simply dress for comfort. I am not one of those girls you see at sporting events that walk in with high heels on and look like they are going to go out to a club afterwards. I always stick to my basics. I wear a shirt that is either my teams colors or a team shirt like this University of Arizona vintage t-shirt. I then pair it with either a pair of leggings or comfortable jeans like these Frame Denim ones. Then depending on the weather and where I am that will determine my shoe choice. Since I am in New York City for tonight’s game where University of Arizona will play North Dakota I will be wearing these short brown booties from Vince Camuto that I got the year I moved to New York City. I am only wearing these booties because I don’t plan on walking very far to watch the game, but if plans change then I will opt to wear knee high boots in order to deal with the snow that is still piled up on the sidewalks right now. The knee high boots that I always love to wear are from Steve Madden. Every time I wear them I am always asked who makes them and people are shocked that they are Steve Madden. They make similar pairs still to this day, but they were a still back in 2011 for only a mere $100. Hope everyone has their brackets ready because March Madness is finally here. Oh and one more thing #BEARDOWN!
My Go To Winter Bag – LV
Happy Thursday and happy first day of December! It’s crazy how much time has flown by and we are almost in 2017! So you all still have some time to think of your New Year’s resolutions, but until then let’s end 2016 with a bang! One of the things that I noticed when moving to New York City is that especially with the snow and rain and all the different weather climates you need a bag that is weatherproof for all of them. Especially a bag that if you need something while it is snowing outside you don’t have to dig around inside to find what you are looking for. I got this bag a few years ago from Louis Vuitton and since then they have revamped it a little to include different colors and handles to match the color inside. The Pallas bag also now comes in a smaller version as well. This bag comes with the general shoulder strap if you don’t want to wear with just the normal handles. Louis Vuitton is also offering for purchase a longer strap if you want to wear the bag cross body or just other different shoulder straps for all of their bags in the store. This allows you to change up your normal bag that you may have had for years with a new accessory to it. I personally love this bag because first off it has a zipper on top, but the side pockets are easily accessible especially when it is snowing heavily outside and need to get something fast. This is my go to bag for everyday during the winter and even the smaller version of this bag is a great size for everyday wear this winter. Check out the Louis Vuitton website for all the different color options that they have. I personally would go with a darker color, but it’s all up to personal preference. Hope everyone has a great day!
Black Denim
Happy Saturday! I am the girl that during winter I normally live in my leggings, but once it hits a certain temperature no matter how thick the leggings are they will not keep you warm. What’s a girl to do but find a great pair of black jeans! These are another pair that I got from Bloomingdales last month during their amazing jean sale. I always seem to find great pairs during this time because even if you buy one pair that is full price, sometimes if you buy one full price you will either get the second pair discounted or you get BMoney in return. These pair are from 7 For All Mankind and they are absolutely amazing. Some of the jeans that I have purchased over the years I have noticed that even after one wear of them they become so loose that I feel the need to wash them so they shrink a little. It is known that you aren’t suppose to wash your jeans very often because then the jeans will lose its color fast, but also then they wear too quickly over time. These pair are mid-rise ankle skinny and I have had them for over a month and have only washed them once! Also, surprisingly unlike other pairs of dark / black denim that have had the color run onto my clothing, this pair has not. They are so comfortable and soft that to someone that is just looking at you they look like jeans, but feel like a soft pair of leggings. They are not too thick that you feel like you are walking around with firm jeans, but they aren’t too thin that even on the coldest nights in New York City you are still kept warm. I tested it to see if I needed to, once it is snowing outside, if a pair of tights could fit under them comfortably and to my surprise they do! Right now if you head to Bloomingdales.com they are having a private sale and if you have a Bloomingdales charge card you get even more of a discount! Head on over there now and check out their sale selection especially their black colored denim. Hope everyone has a great day! <3

Colored Denim – #50ShadesOfGrey
It’s Saturday night and what’s a girl to wear when it is freezing outside, but jeans? I have been trying to change up my jean wardrobe from the standard denim or black jeans. I have experimented with colored jeans, but when I saw these grey jeans from 7 for all mankind I absolutely fell in love. Now being as short as I am there is always the dreaded time of finding skinny jeans that are cut just right to the point where you don’t have to go to the tailor to get them hemmed. These jeans from 7 for all mankind are the skinny ankle cut and they are a high rise waist and because of them being ankle skinny I don’t need to get them shortened! It is amazing! Sadly, the high rise ankle skinny this season only came in this color because if it came in other colors I personally would have purchased them all. I love the grey of these jeans because they aren’t too dark that they look like a pair of black jeans that just lost its color and they aren’t too light that you feel as if you are wearing them during the wrong time of the year. When you are looking for a great pair of grey denim take a look at the care label. I personally always wash my jeans inside out and then I let them air dry until they are almost completely dry then I put them in the dryer on a low heat for 20 minutes max. This way they aren’t super stiff when you try to put them on. I know some people may think “am I really going to wear grey jeans enough to invest in an expensive pair?” My answer is yes! I honestly didn’t think I would at first, but now they are my go to going out pair. I can pretty much wear them with anything. I have worn them to casual events and even to fancy dinners as well. A great pair of colored jeans styled correctly can go from day to night. Just like how I have it styled here with suede booties and an off the shoulder t-shirt. This is an outfit that I could go out with my friends in and also could even wear to work on a casual Friday. The opportunities are endless. Go out now and buy a pair of grey denim-before you know it all of the sizes will be gone 🙂
