Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend and are gearing up for the week ahead. I still can’t believe that summer is almost over! Personally I am not ready for the cold weather, but I am trying to savor every moment of the summer I can before it’s over. Now I have expressed my love for bodysuits before and I am here to share with you one of my favorite finds for a special Steals & Deals. Now if you are going to wear a bodysuit I believe it shouldn’t be a full bottom. I don’t want to feel like I am wearing a full piece bathing suit as clothes and I know none of you do either. I have always had a love hate relationship with Express throughout the years, but recently I have loved a lot of their pieces. This off the shoulder ruffle thong bodysuit is something that you all need to have in your closets. First off the off the shoulder trend is something that we have been seeing for over a year now and it doesn’t seem to be going away. Secondly this bodysuit can be worn a multitude of ways. It can be worn as a one shoulder top or even as a strapless top! I have tried it and it works! It is available on Express’ website in 5 colors for only $39.90. Now normally when you see bodysuits like this at such a low price they tend to feel cheap and aren’t as comfortable as what you would like. I am here to say that this bodysuit despite it being off the shoulder which requires me to wear a strapless bra is the most comfortable bodysuit. I had to read the label after putting it on because it is so soft that you would think it was made out of 100% cotton. I personally ordered a size small and it fits perfectly! Steals & Deals: Stripped off the Shoulder

Happy Friday! This weekend it is a full household in my apartment. I am watching one of my best friends puppies Stanley a cockapoo that is under 6 months old. Stella is getting adjusted to not having all of my attention, but so far so good! Once a month I get emails with additional mark downs from different retailers. The one retailer that I have found the best markdowns recently is Saks Off Fifth. One of the biggest trends of summer that I have seen so many people wear are button down shirts, but not the traditional way we are used to seeing. I found this pink button down off the shoulder top with a front tie by Romeo & Juliet for only $34.99! It is so comfortable and easy to wear despite the fact that I need to wear a strapless bra with it. I love how the sleeves are not the traditional cuffs that you see on button down shirts. I also ordered this top in black and white as well. I personally ordered a size small and I’m glad I did. Otherwise It would be too tight on me that I wouldn’t be able to lift my arms if I took it any smaller.  One thing I will say about Saks Off Fifth is they have a policy for shipping. If your item doesn’t ship within a certain time frame they will cancel your order. Even if the item is still available online they will cancel it. This happened to me with my order of these two tops, but upon calling their customer service they promptly re ordered me the items and found them the same day to ship them to me overnight for FREE!  Saks Off Fifth has recently opened up an actual store in New York City and it is AMAZING!!! If you aren’t that big into online shopping head on over to their store in Midtown right now! They have an amazing selection of low to high end designer items at a fraction of the cost. Throwback Thursday: The Denim Jacket

Happy #TBT! Everyone always says that in fashion its a cycle and that what’s old is new again. This has always been the case especially this past year. We have seen the resurgence of so many trends that I even used to wear when I was younger. Wow that makes me feel old. One of my favorite trends from middle school was the denim jacket. I still remember the first one my Mom purchased me was a dark denim jacket from Hard Tail. I wore it until it was too short on my arms for me to wear. Even though I tried to convince my parents I could wear it as a quarter sleeve jacket, but they didn’t buy it. While in college my Mom once again found me another great find this Ralph Lauren denim jacket. I totally forgot I even had it until I moved to New York City almost 4 years ago. When looking for a denim jacket I suggest looking at your wardrobe in a whole. I prefer my denim jacket plain without any patches or artwork on it. The amount of times I have thrown on my denim jacket right before I walk out the door recently is through the roof. Even when I am simply going out for a walk with my sweet puppy Stella I sometimes throw it on instead of putting on a long sleeve t-shirt. It’s hard when its early in the morning and its too hot for long sleeves but a little nippy for just a tank top. This is a happy medium!  I know a lot of people have been wearing them super oversized, but for me I prefer mine more fitted. However, if you want the oversized look make sure the arms aren’t too long that you are rolling up the sleeves to the point that it hurts your wrist. If you want a denim jacket with a little more flare you can always purchase your own patches online and put them on a solid denim jacket yourself. It will be most cost effective especially if you aren’t sure how often you are going to wear it. Sadly my denim jacket is no longer available, but if you search retailers such as Zara, GAP and even H&M you will find great ones that won’t cost you an arm and a leg.

Summer Dress Fun

Summer is the best time of the year in NYC because it’s time to break out those fun dresses that have been hiding in the back of our closets. Last summer is when my love for the gym started and because I was working out so much a lot of my summer dresses just didn’t seem to fit me right anymore. My Mom told me to head on over to Bloomingdales and see what they had because it was Friends & Family. This black dress I found in their sale section for $20! Yes you read that right with all the discounts added on top of it this dress was such a steal! I know there a lot of people who will look at this dress and say its too loose for a summer dress, but that is what I was looking for.  For the most part at least from what I’ve seen since living in NYC  people like to wear short tight dresses or even long maxi dresses in the summer months. That isn’t the case for me when it comes to my summer dresses. When looking for a summer dress color isn’t an obstacle for me because I will wear black even during the summer. However, it is especially hard to find a black dress that isn’t too plain and simple. I love the detailing on the front of this dress and especially the crossing straps in the back. The details give this simple black summer dress a little something extra to it. It is so comfortable and easy to wear that I am sad that it doesn’t come in multiple colors. If it did I would have purchased it in every single color available. This is honestly the perfect dress to wear to a backyard BBQ, a rooftop bar and even a date night out. When it gets so hot during the summer it hard to dress without sweating through your clothes, but this dress is the perfect mix of fun and comfortable for these summer months. How To Add Color To Any Outfit

It’s Thursday and that means its one more day until the weekend!!! Now I have said this before, but I will say it again the majority of my closet is black with a little white and very few items of color. However, when it comes to handbags that isn’t the case. A few years ago Gilt was having a major sale exclusive for their app users for brand new Balenciaga bags! Yes you heard that right brand new Balenciaga bags not pre owned. Now it is more common for these flash sale sites to have brand new designer bags at a fraction of the cost but even two years ago that wasn’t the case.

I knew that I wanted to get a red bag to add to my collection. My Mom always told me that if I was going to buy a colored bag to make it red because her Mom always told her that it was for good luck. If you are going to get any bag for a pop color even if you don’t think it will bring you luck I suggest a red bag. My only suggestion is to make sure not to wear a bag like this when their is the potential of bad weather. The worst thing that can happen to you is if your red bag bleeds onto your clothes. That has happened to me way too a few too many times that I don’t want to admit. I think Stella agrees with me on this that this red Balenciaga purse is the way to go. Throwback Thursday – Overalls

Today I thought I would bring back an outfit that I probably wore on repeat in 4th grade any chance I could. What outfit am I talking about? Overalls! I had my favorite pair of denim overalls that I wore at least once a week to school maybe even more my entire 4th grade year. I still remember my Dad trying to get me to buy a different pair of overalls so I could switch it up and I wouldn’t budge. Finally once they got a hole in them it was time to say goodbye. Recently I have been spotting the trend everywhere from H&M all the way to Bloomingdales. One of my favorite bloggers is WeWoreWhat and when I heard she had created a line of overalls I was desperate to get my hands on a pair of them. I luckily was able to snag two pairs of her coveted Second Skin Overalls including this pair that I am wearing. These are her high waisted black skinny overalls and I am OBSESSED!!! They are so comfortable and fit so well that I don’t want to take them off. Being that I am only 5’2 1/2 (yes that 1/2 of an inch is very important) I always struggle to find things that fit me properly. I always seem to have to take any pair of jeans or jumpsuits to the tailor, but for the first time in a long time I didn’t have to. These overalls fit me perfectly without any need to take them in to a professional. I personally never realized how versatile overalls truly were until now. You can wear these overalls with sneakers, slides, flats, booties, heels or even sandals. The tricky part is finding the proper top to go underneath. For me I have worn body suits under it, off the shoulder tops, crop tops and also tight tanks that tuck in on the sides. The tank that I am wearing is a looser fitting tank from GAP and it is tight on top, but not as tight as a form fitting tank. If you are purchasing from Second Skin Overalls I suggest ordering two sizes. In one of the overalls from a previous collection I was a size XS, but for these I wore a size small. If you are concerned with the $ of these overalls I am here to tell you that it is worth every penny, but if you aren’t sure if you will wear them often check out stores like Forever 21 and H&M for less expensive options.
