Memorial Day Outfit Prep

Happy Thursday! Today I got my hair colored and went from red back to having my blonde ombre just in time for summer. With Memorial Day being next weekend I am getting all of my outfits ready for the big weekend. There are some essential items that you will need for the holiday weekend whether you are going away or staying in town. Here are some of the things you should make sure you have: a great pair of white jeans, a cold shoulder top with a great strapless bra, a small clutch and a great pair of sandals. If you don’t have any of these items I would go out and get them ASAP! I say this out of love because I know what it feels like not to have these clutch items. I went shopping in a panic out in New York City and yes New York one of the fashion capitals of the world has everything however when it comes to major holidays. You will notice that when summer comes along right before the actual weekend these items like white jeans sell out in mostly every single size. These are staple items that you will not only wear Memorial Day weekend, but all summer long. I know we are all waiting for these huge Memorial Day sale however, a lot of stores do offer pre sale for certain items if you ask. I have personally done this numerous times at Bloomingdales during their Friends & Family if I didn’t need the item right away. If you don’t know where to begin when it comes to shopping for next weekend I suggest you all head on over to Gap, H&M or Forever 21. These are great store options that have so many options right now and at great prices. For all of those in New York City I hope that all of you are safe after todays’ horrible accident in Times Square. Always be aware of your surroundings and make sure to pay attention always. Steals & Deals – Valentine’s Day Special

Happy Friday! Yesterday in New York City we had a blizzard and I decided to take the day to stay inside and snuggle up on the couch with my sweet puppy Stella. Thankfully today some of the snow has melted, but there are still parts of the city that have too much snow. Fitness Tuesday in honor of Stella’s Birthday!!

Happy Fitness Tuesday! Today is a very special day for me because it my sweet puppy Stella’s first birthday!! It is crazy to me to think that a year ago on my birthday I put down a deposit for her and now she is already a year old. So today in honor of her birthday I want to talk about fitness with your animal. Now I love to give Stella treats and of course she loves them too, but we also want our pets to be healthy and have tons of energy. I have noticed that for her even after a two hour walk she still is full of energy, but then eventually sleeps. I personally do not go running with Stella everyday, but I have been taking her for casual jogs in Central Park at least once a week since. Thankfully (knock on wood) it hasn’t snowed yet so I am taking full advantage of it. If you are fortunate enough to have a pool anywhere near you and for us New Yorkers an indoor pool take your dog for an occasional swim. All of my family pets have all loved to swim not just because we were in Miami, but because it is great exercise for them. Even though I have seen videos of it and I find it entertaining I have heard that putting a dog on a treadmill isn’t the best idea especially if you turn up the speed on it. Just like Taylor Swift did in the Apple commercial a dog can seriously hurt themselves and fall down. Hope you all have a great Tuesday and again Happy Birthday to my sweet puppy Stella! My Go To Winter Bag – LV

Happy Thursday and happy first day of December! It’s crazy how much time has flown by and we are almost in 2017! So you all still have some time to think of your New Year’s resolutions, but until then let’s end 2016 with a bang! One of the things that I noticed when moving to New York City is that especially with the snow and rain and all the different weather climates you need a bag that is weatherproof for all of them. Especially a bag that if you need something while it is snowing outside you don’t have to dig around inside to find what you are looking for. I got this bag a few years ago from Louis Vuitton and since then they have revamped it a little to include different colors and handles to match the color inside. The Pallas bag also now comes in a smaller version as well. This bag comes with the general shoulder strap if you don’t want to wear with just the normal handles. Louis Vuitton is also offering for purchase a longer strap if you want to wear the bag cross body or just other different shoulder straps for all of their bags in the store. This allows you to change up your normal bag that you may have had for years with a new accessory to it. I personally love this bag because first off it has a zipper on top, but the side pockets are easily accessible especially when it is snowing heavily outside and need to get something fast. This is my go to bag for everyday during the winter and even the smaller version of this bag is a great size for everyday wear this winter. All Red Everything

For anyone that knows me, my closet usually consists of black, white and beige. I am not one of those people that likes to wear a lot of color, but I am trying to step out of my comfort zone and wear things that normally I wouldn’t wear. One day while going through Gilt I saw that one of the brands listed was Black Halo and I only knew about them because I had just purchased a dress from them for my best friend’s sister’s wedding in Florida. When you look at this outfit at first glance you think it’s a dress right? Well you would be incorrect because it is a skirt and a crop top, but they are sold together as an outfit! I love the fact that it is two pieces because if I wanted to wear them separately and mix and match them with something else I can. At first I wasn’t sure how I felt about the length of the skirt, but they have this outfit now with a shorter skirt option if you don’t like the length of it. One of the other major things that made me fall in love with this outfit was the fact that the skirt has pockets. I don’t know why, but you can ask any girl if a dress / skirt has pockets it’s a game changer. Black Halo’s outfits even when not on Gilt are fairly priced and are very comfortable and easy to wear for any occasion. As I previously said, I normally don’t wear color, but this shade of red on me, even when I am not tan and am pale, didn’t look bad on my skin tone. Some reds are a lot brighter than this one it’s just the matter of finding the right shade of a color that works best for you. How To Layer Necklaces

They key to layering necklaces is simplicity. I will admit I do have those big-jeweled necklaces from Baublebar and J.crew that I have purchased through the years, but those necklaces aren’t the ones you need to layer over each other. This Jennifer Zeuner necklace I paired with a long gold dipped chain with a Fendi heart charm. Something that I didn’t know until I purchased this chain, is that since gold is going up in pricing and in value, you still want a gold chain but without the gold price tag. The best way to do this is to find a gold dipped chain. These chains are usually a sterling silver chain base with the gold dip and they are ½ the price, but they still look like it’s a gold chain. Some necklaces have different chain length options already on the chain, which is one of the reason I love this Jennifer Zeuner necklace. I can make it long or I can make it super short depending on the neckline that I was wearing that day. I never layer more than 3 necklaces at a time. Even if the chains are different lengths, they still all meet on the back of your neck and the last thing you want to deal with at the end of the day is untangling a bunch of chains together. The trick to avoiding that is to take the longest necklace first and unhook it from the front. If you decide to wear all chains the same length pick the necklace with the least amount of charms and pull it to the front to unhook it. This is something that I have done many times and have avoided the dreaded tangled neck chains. Necklace layering isn’t for everyone. Some people I know just aren’t a fan of the look, but I think if there are two pieces you really want to wear at the same time that it is doable you just have to make it look effortless.
