Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend and are gearing up for the week ahead. I still can’t believe that summer is almost over! Personally I am not ready for the cold weather, but I am trying to savor every moment of the summer I can before it’s over. Now I have expressed my love for bodysuits before and I am here to share with you one of my favorite finds for a special Steals & Deals. Now if you are going to wear a bodysuit I believe it shouldn’t be a full bottom. I don’t want to feel like I am wearing a full piece bathing suit as clothes and I know none of you do either. I have always had a love hate relationship with Express throughout the years, but recently I have loved a lot of their pieces. This off the shoulder ruffle thong bodysuit is something that you all need to have in your closets. First off the off the shoulder trend is something that we have been seeing for over a year now and it doesn’t seem to be going away. Secondly this bodysuit can be worn a multitude of ways. It can be worn as a one shoulder top or even as a strapless top! I have tried it and it works! It is available on Express’ website in 5 colors for only $39.90. Now normally when you see bodysuits like this at such a low price they tend to feel cheap and aren’t as comfortable as what you would like. I am here to say that this bodysuit despite it being off the shoulder which requires me to wear a strapless bra is the most comfortable bodysuit. I had to read the label after putting it on because it is so soft that you would think it was made out of 100% cotton. I personally ordered a size small and it fits perfectly! Tuesday Shoesday – Stuart Weitzman

Happy Tuesday! Instead of #FitnessTuesday I have decided for the rest of this month I am going to be focusing on my love for shoes. A few years ago I showed my Mom an image of Kourtney Kardashian wearing these unreal snakeskin gladiator sandals by Stuart Weitzman. I was OBSESSED with them to the point my Mom asked me to stop sending her pictures of everyone on the internet wearing them. She didn’t believe me that they would look good on me for the fact that I am short, but I pointed out that Kourtney Kardashian is as short as I am. Most tall gladiator sandals don’t always fit my leg they either are too short or come above the knee. I tried them on anytime I saw them in the store only to be sure of my size, but also in hopes my Mom would agree that they looked so cute on me. Finally one day my Mom called me about a year after I showed her the initial picture asking me if I still wanted the shoes. I froze and immediately said yes! She found them on Jildor’s website for over 75% off!!! She then asked me for my size which thanks to the many times I tried them on in the store I knew :-). I also tried them on so many times in the store because of the calf part of the shoe. Even though I do work out my legs aren’t as muscular as other people and sometimes this has stopped me from purchasing a pair of shoes. There were other gladiator sandals that Stuart Weitzman came out with that were solid and they did not fit me around my calf muscles. Thankfully these have adjustable straps around the legs so that helps with anyone who may not have the most muscular legs. Sadly these aren’t available anymore on their website, but there a lot of great retailers that have some of their amazing gladiator sandals on sale right now! Tuesday Shoesday – Birkenstock

Happy Tuesday! Can you all believe it is already August 1st? Crazy how quickly the summer has gone by. Sorry that I have been so MIA this past month. I have been traveling and working on ways to make Just Jodi Style better. I am back now and ready to give you all amazing new content. Since last year I  have been looking for a pair of metallic sandals like a pair I had in high school to be my new it summer sandal. I had seen that Birkenstock had made metallic sandals and even a classic all white pair last year, but I could never find my size. I have very thin fit so sometimes even though the shoe may fit length it wont’ fit around the top of my foot. The amount of times that I have been searching for a shoe to finally find it to have it not fit me properly is more than I would like. When I saw these rose gold Birkenstock sandals I immediately tried to find my size. I searched for months and months and because I wasn’t sure what size I needed I was looking for two sizes. I put my name on countless waitlists to then finally find it on Amazon in a size 6.5. Sadly, there was too much room around the top of my foot even on the tightest buckle. Then I was back on the hunt! Finally Zappos emailed me that they had them in a size 6 the only difference was the bottom of the shoes were black instead of white. I honestly preferred the black bottom because with walking around the streets of Manhattan white shoes get dirty pretty quickly.  The size 6 came and they fit PERFECTLY! They are so comfortable and I love the rose gold coloring on them. The last time I owned a pair of Birkenstock’s I was at sleep away camp. The main reason I purchased them back then was to avoid having to put on real shoes for morning line up. Don’t tell me that I was the only one that did that. If you were looking for these sandals like I was head on over to Zappos right now before they are all gone! They have them now with both the black and white bottoms so you can now take your pick. National Nail Polish Day

Happy Thursday! Also happy first day of June! I personally never feel like it is truly summer until June hits. One of my favorite things about summer is the fact that it is officially sandal weather! Growing up in Miami and then going to school in Arizona I never had to deal with snow and really the cold for extended periods of time. Since I never had to deal with this in the past it was always sandal weather, but now since living in New York City I get excited for the time of year that it really matters if you have a pedicure. This is the time you get to show off your personality with your toe polish and what better way to start summer off with National Nail Polish Day!!! I have been known amongst my friends to be an expert when it comes to nail polishes. There was once a quiz online to name all the names of different brands of polishes and needless to say I got a 100%. Some of my favorite brands include Essie, OPI, Tom Ford and Chanel. I personally wear Essie and OPI more than most because you can buy majority of their colors at your local drug stores. I usually purchase my polishes after one wear of them because 1. I want to make sure that I like it and 2. If I mess up my nails or chip them I can fix it on my own without having to go back to the nail salon. During summer I love to wear the lighter colors like Essie – Fiji, Essie – Go Ginza, OPI – Why Can’t We Be Friends and OPI – Alpine Snow. Also its not a rule that you have to match your toes to your hands. I always do a gel polish on my hands except for the off week that I put the nail strengthener on so it never truly matches the normal nail polish colors. Go out now and get a bottle of nail polish and help celebrate National Nail Polish Day with a fresh manicure and pedicure. <3

Steals & Deals – Ear Cuffs

Happy Friday! Back in 2013 the biggest trend to come out of the earring game was the ear cuff. Now as I have told you all before my Mom is the queen of finding the hottest trends at a fraction of the cost. She purchased me these beautiful diamond ear cuffs from Graziela Gems and they are even more beautiful in person. They are so comfortable and so easy to wear with pretty much everything that I own. Back then they were on sale due to the impending holiday season, but they now have a special collection on QVC. Comfy Casual Night In

In college Thursday nights were always a big going out night, but since I have gotten older I enjoy at least one night in on the weekends. Especially nights in cuddling with my sweet puppy Stella. However, just because you are staying in doesn’t mean you don’t have to be wearing sweats around the house. There is always a way to look cute even when you are just staying home. There are so many different ways you can take comfy casual and there is no right or wrong way. Most people would say if you are just spending the night in on your couch watching movies that jeans are not ideal for this, but I disagree. There are so many different pairs of jeans that almost feel like leggings and aren’t rigid like most jeans. These type of jeans are perfect for a night in because they aren’t as constricting as a normal pair of jeans. On top of a pair of jeans pair it with a comfy shirt not super tight, but not too loose that you look like you are just wearing an oversized sleep t-shirt. I know you all know what I am talking about those t-shirts from college that were great to wear to sporting games, but now are faded and way too big. If you have one of those that isn’t too big you can cut it up like the shirt I am wearing above. It will spice up your t-shirt and if you cut it wrong you can just continue to wear it as a sleep shirt. Pair your comfy look with a great pair of slides if you are going over to a friends house or just want to break in a new pair of shoes and you are good to go! Stella seems to be very comfy for our night in with her custom Donni Charm plaid bandana. Maybe if I am lucky she will let me take it off before she goes to bed. 🙂 <3

Steals & Deals: The Over The Knee Heeled Boot

Happy Friday! For today’s Steals & Deals I want to discuss one of the hottest trends this season…the over the knee boot. We have seen everyone wear them from the Hadid sisters to almost every fashion blogger out there. I was lucky enough to get a pair of the Stuart Weitzman Highland boots in black suede for my birthday, but not everyone wants to spend that much on a pair of shoes. I have found some other options for all of you that give you the same look, but at a fraction of the cost. These boots from Steve Madden almost look identical to mine and are only $129! Even better they also have a pair in two neutral colors for only $99!!!! Snag those babies while you can at that unbeatable price. Nordstrom right now has an amazing selection of over the knee heeled boots under $200. Now just because these shoes are under $200 doesn’t mean you shouldn’t weatherproof them. I have learned that even if you waterproof your shoes the one thing that will destroy them is the salt that everyone puts on the sidewalks to melt the snow. So if you get that on your new boots that are weather proofed just take a towel or napkin and wipe off the salt. If you do that within 12 hours you should be good to go.  If you are still in the market for a pair it is not too late to get yourself a pair. Head on over now before they all disappear.

Fitness Tuesday – To Stretch Or Not To Stretch?

Happy New Year everyone and happy first fitness Tuesday of 2017!! I am finally recovering from this weekend and getting back into the swing of things. I started January 1st with a 90 minute SoulCycle class and when you hear people say it is hard that is an understatement even for me who does spinning at least 4 times a week. When I used to do spinning I would always leave before the stretch part because I would just want to get out of the class and shower. Even when I was younger I would always just do the bare minimum of stretching not until I played JV basketball in High School did I start to take it more seriously. I didn’t want to injure myself because I wasn’t stretching properly, but with spinning didn’t think that I needed to stretch more than I normally did. One thing that I have learned since starting to work out more is that stretching is more important than you think. Even if you don’t really stretch fully before any type of workout after you should always stretch every muscle you have. There are times I would think oh I don’t need to stretch out my arms because I barely did any arm work, but that doesn’t mean you didn’t use your arms in a way you didn’t realize. As I have previously stated a foam roller is great for stretching, but you can use anything in your house. I personally use a towel to stretch out my legs by using wrapping it around my feet and holding either end of the towel and then pointing and flexing my toes in the process. It may sound silly, but think about all the stretches you did in your middle school PE classes and do those today. They are more helpful than you think and they will prevent you from getting stiff muscles and possibly hurting yourself in the long run. Steals & Deals – Faux Suede Bodysuit

Happy Friday!!! Today is the last Friday before Christmas and Channukah and I hope everyone has found their perfect gifts for the special people in their lives. If you are still looking for a great outfit to wear for the upcoming holiday parties and for New Years Eve look no further than this Steals & Deals. As you all already can guess from previous posts I love bodysuits. They are so easy to wear and just make an outfit simple and easy. I found this amazing faux suede bodysuit from Charlotte Russe and it is only $15!!! They used to have it in this light purple grey color like the one I am wearing, but now they only have it in a burgundy color. I am very tempted to buy it in this color as well because it just fits so well! The burgundy is also a great color for holiday time because it isn’t a true red, but still festive. This bodysuit is great to pair with a pair of mid rise or high waisted jeans with or without a belt or you can even pair it with a skirt. I hate having to tuck in a shirt when I wear pants, shorts or a skirt because it always seems to bunch up around my waist and just not lay correctly. This bodysuit fits like a glove! If you are concerned about how low cut it is and not revealing too much my suggestion is to use fashion tape. When I wore this out the first time I used fashion tape. Since the straps aren’t adjustable and I did not have time to go and get it altered I used fashion tape by the chest area and it worked perfectly! The top did not move out of place the entire evening that I wore it. Most pharmacy in the beauty section carry fashion tape, but if you can’t find it they also have it on Amazon Prime. Pair it with a simple necklace like the one I have on and you are all set. Hope everyone who is traveling this holiday weekend travels safe and gets everything that they want and more. <3

The Tall Ugg Boot

Happy Monday! Well it’s finally time to break out those winter boots from your closet. Now even though some of us won’t admit it but we all have more than one pair of Ugg boots in our closet. Even growing up in Miami I had a few too many pairs, but now living in New York City you need them! Especially for this cold weather that we are having. This winter if you haven’t purchased a new pair of Uggs recently I think it’s time for you to go out and get a fresh pair. These tall Ugg boots are knee high and like all my other pairs of Uggs are so warm and cozy. These are great with a pair of leggings or skinny jeans. I like how they fit around my leg almost like they are a glove to them. I know sometimes at least for me after some wear the Ugg boots don’t fit as snug around your leg, but these I have had for over a year and they still fit just as snug as the first day I wore them. Don’t forget as with all Uggs except the new weatherproof pair they have come out with they do need to be weather proofed with the Ugg boot spray. I know some people don’t see the need in buying the spray, but I am here to tell you that is well worth your money. You will be wearing these boots all winter long and you want to make sure they stay in great shape.  Unlike the traditional Uggs these pair have a stitched in design which for me I think personally makes my legs look longer than they actually are.
