Happy Monday! Well let’s be real the thing I am most excited about is the Bachelorette Finale tonight on ABC. Now I have been watching all season long like every year participating in Bachelor / Bachelorette leagues, but little did I know that this year I was going to know one of the contestants. Something that I learned from one of my friends who also knows someone that was on the show is that the roses that they hand out are 100% real! I know there has been a ton of discussion about this on all of the gossip sites, but they are real! If you love flowers and want ones that will last more than one week check out The Million Roses from LA. They do a similar process like Venus Et Fleur, but have a larger selection at all price points. Some of my favorite things that I try to have for Bachelor / Bachelorette nights at my home include Babe Rose. Babe Rose is rose in a can! Who knew? I also love the classic White Girl Rose also created by The Fat Jew. I can’t wait to see what happens on tonight’s episode especially the After The Final Rose special. So who do you all want to win? The better question is who do you all want as the next Bachelor? I guess we will all have to wait until tonight to find out for ourselves.
Tuesday Shoesday – Birkenstock
Happy Tuesday! Can you all believe it is already August 1st? Crazy how quickly the summer has gone by. Sorry that I have been so MIA this past month. I have been traveling and working on ways to make Just Jodi Style better. I am back now and ready to give you all amazing new content. Since last year I have been looking for a pair of metallic sandals like a pair I had in high school to be my new it summer sandal. I had seen that Birkenstock had made metallic sandals and even a classic all white pair last year, but I could never find my size. I have very thin fit so sometimes even though the shoe may fit length it wont’ fit around the top of my foot. The amount of times that I have been searching for a shoe to finally find it to have it not fit me properly is more than I would like. When I saw these rose gold Birkenstock sandals I immediately tried to find my size. I searched for months and months and because I wasn’t sure what size I needed I was looking for two sizes. I put my name on countless waitlists to then finally find it on Amazon in a size 6.5. Sadly, there was too much room around the top of my foot even on the tightest buckle. Then I was back on the hunt! Finally Zappos emailed me that they had them in a size 6 the only difference was the bottom of the shoes were black instead of white. I honestly preferred the black bottom because with walking around the streets of Manhattan white shoes get dirty pretty quickly. The size 6 came and they fit PERFECTLY! They are so comfortable and I love the rose gold coloring on them. The last time I owned a pair of Birkenstock’s I was at sleep away camp. The main reason I purchased them back then was to avoid having to put on real shoes for morning line up. Don’t tell me that I was the only one that did that. If you were looking for these sandals like I was head on over to Zappos right now before they are all gone! They have them now with both the black and white bottoms so you can now take your pick. Have a great day <3
Bachelorette Monday!
Happy Monday! Today is an exciting day because #BachelorNation is back!! Tonight begins the season of the Bachelorette and I am so excited. Crazy enough I know one of the men competing this season for Rachel’s heart and I can’t wait to see how far he goes. I haven’t spoken to him in a few years or I would ask him for some spoilers. In honor of tonight’s season premiere I want to show you one of my favorite cocktail dresses that I have worn to a ton of weddings. Now over the years the girls on this show have had some hit and misses when it comes to their rose ceremony outfits. I love when they all wear long gowns, but there is something to say about a beautiful short dress. I love that this dress is simple with black and white lace, but here’s hoping that Rachel comes out in a stunning red outfit like this one from Black Halo.
All I know is I can’t wait to see what Rachel is wearing on the first rose ceremony tonight, but I am also interested to see what the guys are wearing too. Tune in tonight on ABC and see for yourselves!

Frose: Frozen Rose
Saturday’s are for having fun and spending time with your friends. Tonight I am going to watch with my friends one of the shows highlighting the JonBenet Ramsey case. One of my friends, who helped with the production of one of the many specials highlighting this case, has been working so many hours on this and we all decided we had to watch it together. So what better way to hang out with friends than to drink some fun drinks? Now we all know that frose was the drink of the summer, but did you know that it is really easy to make? Thanks to Purewow.com I was able to make it for all of my friends. All you need is 1/3 cup sugar, ¼ cup water, zest and juice of 1 lemon and 1 bottle of dry rose wine.
Directions:
- In a small pot bring the water, lemon, sugar all to a boil over medium heat. Make sure that the sugar is dissolved. Once that happens then put it to the side to get to room temperature.
- In a 13 x 9 baking dish pour the rose into it. Put it into the freezer for about 3 hours.
- Remove the pan and it won’t be entirely frozen, but scrap it all around and pour in the water / lemon and sugar that you had set aside to become room temperature.
- Then return it to the freezer.
What I do since sometimes it isn’t as frozen as I would like it to be is I put it in a blender with some ice cubes to make it thicker. It is super easy and really delicious when you drink it.
Enjoy with all of your friends!
