Happy Monday! Hope everyone is having a great day so far and recovering from the Super Bowl madness yesterday! I still can’t believe what happened. If you didn’t watch the game spoiler alert the Patriots won. I would like to mention that the Miami Dolphins are still the only team to go an entire season undefeated and that includes winning the Super Bowl that year :-). Just saying.. Anyways recently I have noticed more so than not especially during the winter I stick to my basic outfits. However, I was always curious if people thought that because I was normally wearing all black that there was something wrong with me. I am here to tell you that it is perfectly normal to wear all black. My best friend Tess whenever I ask her what she is wearing she says I am wearing some black on some black on some black you know the usual. I personally think if you are concerned that you are always wearing all black all the time then switch up some of the pieces to be different textures. For example in the image today I am wearing black jeans and then a black top underneath then a black leather jacket. The leather jacket made my look different and changed up me constantly just wearing solid black. I have also worn black suede pants with a black top and no one noticed that I was wearing all black, but they did notice my suede pants. Do you think that it’s acceptable to wear all black all the time? Comment below and let me know what you think. <3
Steals & Deals – Faux Suede Bodysuit
Happy Friday!!! Today is the last Friday before Christmas and Channukah and I hope everyone has found their perfect gifts for the special people in their lives. If you are still looking for a great outfit to wear for the upcoming holiday parties and for New Years Eve look no further than this Steals & Deals. As you all already can guess from previous posts I love bodysuits. They are so easy to wear and just make an outfit simple and easy. I found this amazing faux suede bodysuit from Charlotte Russe and it is only $15!!! They used to have it in this light purple grey color like the one I am wearing, but now they only have it in a burgundy color. I am very tempted to buy it in this color as well because it just fits so well! The burgundy is also a great color for holiday time because it isn’t a true red, but still festive. This bodysuit is great to pair with a pair of mid rise or high waisted jeans with or without a belt or you can even pair it with a skirt. I hate having to tuck in a shirt when I wear pants, shorts or a skirt because it always seems to bunch up around my waist and just not lay correctly. This bodysuit fits like a glove! If you are concerned about how low cut it is and not revealing too much my suggestion is to use fashion tape. When I wore this out the first time I used fashion tape. Since the straps aren’t adjustable and I did not have time to go and get it altered I used fashion tape by the chest area and it worked perfectly! The top did not move out of place the entire evening that I wore it. Most pharmacy in the beauty section carry fashion tape, but if you can’t find it they also have it on Amazon Prime. Pair it with a simple necklace like the one I have on and you are all set. Hope everyone who is traveling this holiday weekend travels safe and gets everything that they want and more. <3
Suede Booties
Happy Thursday! Now it may be November, but thankfully it hasn’t snowed once this fall / winter. Phew! There is always the dilemma for every girl when it comes to suede. Do you buy them or not buy them? My answer is yes buy them! Winter is the time to wear suede and that includes your shoes. I purchased these suede booties from Stuart Weitzman back in January 2012 and they are my go to suede shoes for fall / winter. I personally weather proofed them myself by buying those sprays from Amazon, but instead of doing just two coats like the bottle suggests I did 6 coats. The reason why I did this is because like any of us there have been times where we dress for the weather the morning of and by the end of the day the weather has completely changed. The amount of times that the weather app has told me that there was 0% chance of rain to me walking outside to pouring rain I can’t even. You want to make sure with anything suede that it is fully protected no matter what weather is outside. I love how these suede booties have a wedged platform heel inside and even though they have the buckles on the outside they have a zipper on the inside of the shoe. Also, unlike other suede shoes I have seen recently the heel is also suede all the way around. These shoes are so comfortable and easy to walk in that I even once walked from my apartment in Murray Hill all the way to Madison Square Garden. No blisters or anything! When looking for suede booties I personally prefer the darker shades because they don’t show dirt easily and they are easy to match with multiple outfits. If you want heeled suede booties make sure that you can walk in them especially if the weather changes outside because the last thing you want to do is trip and fall outside. Bridal Shower Ready
Ive realized over the last year that every season is wedding season. I remember thinking that most people get married in the spring or the summer but it turns out now that many of my friends are starting to move into the next phase in their relationships it is ALWAYS wedding season. Aside from what to wear as a guest to a wedding I have found that there are endless other wedding related events that I have needed to dress for. Today lets talk about the bridal shower. What to wear AND what not to wear. Most importantly DO NOT under any circumstances wear white (that’s for the bride). Also dont buy something new for every occasion. While it may feel exciting to wear something special you can’t wear something special for every bridal shower, engagement party, rehearsal dinner, bachelorette party, and wedding. That would be crazy…Be practical and try to find a few pieces that will work for a number of events (for different weddings). I recently attended a bridal shower on a day that was unseasonably cold. I was not expecting the chill and had to adjust my planned ensemble to fit the weather. I believe you can almost never go wrong with black tights. They usually go unnoticed and can make your outfit cold weather ready. After deciding on the tights I decided to pair them with this dress from Nordstrom by RtA. It is a great piece that I know will be able to go with me from this season to the next. Warning: This dress is suede one spill of a drink and the outfit is history…there are many similar styles that come in faux suede which might be a better option for those of us who can be clumsy or have clumsy friends.
